Expressive, pristine, concentrated. Spearhead's winery and home vineyard (the Gentleman Farmer Vineyard) are located in South East Kelowna but they also have Coyote Vineyard in West Kelowna and the Golden Retreat Vineyard near Summerland, where this Pinot Gris hails from. The grapes are hand harvested and whole bunch pressed; 90% is cold fermented in stainless steel, the remaining in 2-year-old French oak barrels.
The purity of this wine is constantly noteworthy. Wildflowers and golden delicious apples, Asian pears and mountain stream aromas roll into a zesty palate with generous fruit. It has excellent concentration, supple weight and a juicy character and bright apple-y finish.
Pair: Crab cakes served with spicy peach salsa, chicken salad or creamy pastas.
